Our sole reason for breeding Tibetan Spaniels are simple; we love the breed! And
one of our objectives is
to give you the possibility of having at least the same pleasure of the
companionship with this delightful little dog, as we and all our Tibbie-friends
all over the world have.
But,
as always with love and affection, responsibility comes bundled with it. Therefore, the
very fact that we love our dogs so much, demands that we do not compromise our breeding
in any way, whatsoever. And please, do not read this to mean we do not make
mistakes, no. Mistakes or mishaps are unavoidable when you deal with living
creatures. But, in realising this very fact, we do put an awful lot of effort
into avoiding them, especially when it comes to elements like temperament and
health issues.
We do what is needed as per our defined objectives, to
thoroughly research the background of the dogs we use for breeding, in order to
find the best possible mate. And, an item we think is important in this kind of
work, we inform you and anyone that cares to listen, without fail, of all known
aspects of our dogs, demeaning or otherwise. Without fail. We truly believe this
is important, and that it makes us continuously contribute to and enhance
the breed standard.
As a first time buyer of a puppy or a young dog,
you should remember to look for a positively socialized individual right
from its conception. That way you ensure that it is a good and even tempered
individual, and that it fits easily
into the family, finding its rightful place in the new flock with ease.
Do not
ever forget that dogs are flock animals. They must know their status and position
in the flock in order to function well socially, regardless of whether it is one
or several dogs in your household. And as
dogs, their position is on the bottom rung of the ladder. You are at the
top.
Make
sure that the breeder provides you with comprehensive information on the dogs
background, and don’t hesitate to ask for details far beyond the three
generations normally written into the pedigree. Both good and bad genes
often turn up many generations later.
Remember,
from the moment you accept your dog, it is your responsibility, although
naturally we are always there to help and support you and your dog. We’re only
a phone call away!
Naturally,
we do what is in our power to bring to life beautiful dogs, dogs that are a true
representative of its kind, displaying and enhancing all the good facets of a
truly wonderful dog. But keep in mind that beauty is not the only criteria used
to judge breed quality. The dog may not be the prettiest dog according to the
standard, but may very well turn out to be a wonderful companion, although maybe
not bringing to life the most perfect litter.
We
put a lot of effort into showing our dogs at major dog shows around the world.
Through this we confirm if our work is up to required standard. And, it’s fun!
Some of our dogs are therefore highly praised and as our showroom will tell you,
have received many confirmations over the years that they are exceptional dogs. We participate in
international shows all over Europe and normally brings home some of the more
distinguished appraisals to be had.
One Sommerlyst-dog won The World
Winner-title 3 years running, in addition to having 3 European Winner Titles and
being Champion in most European countries.
She’s even got a Champion-title from the USA, and naturally an ocean of
winner-titles. Some of the other dogs in our flock have to settle for less, her
mother for instance has “only” nine titles!
We
aim high and is growing with it! But, be aware of the fact that we also aim high
when it comes to selecting whom will be allowed to purchase one of our dogs.
That is to say, we are able to select and evaluate, the dog is not. We therefore, demand that you promise us
that you will behave responsibly with our/your dog, and that you strive towards
providing the dog with a healthy environment to live and grow in, in every way.
Only that way are you able to be a
responsible dog owner. If you, for any reason whatsoever, is not able to keep
your dog anymore, we promise and guarantee that we will take the dog back and to
find a new home for him or her, at no extra cost for you.
It
is also our standard, that all puppies are sold with a pedigree issued by the
Danish Kennel Club, with a health certificate, vaccination, identification
tattoo or chip and a written guarantee. All contract and papers issued in
connection with the sale, is as per The Danish Kennel Clubs standard.
We also
find it important to emphasize that we would be very happy if you feel that you
care for the breed in general terms, and that you could be willing to
participate in the dog show environment around the Tibetan Spaniel. It is indeed
a pleasure we assure you, both for the dog and its keepers!
